My name is Anoo Bhuyan. I am a journalist from Bangalore, based in New Delhi.

I currently report on healthcare in India at The Wire. I also sometimes report on matters of law and justice, and technology and society.

Before The Wire, I worked at Outlook MagazineBBC News and National Public Radio.

I received a scholarship to do my Masters degree in conflict and development studies, from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. In 2018, I won Bournemouth University’s ‘Journalist of Change’ award for my reporting on extra judicial killings in Manipur

I have multi-media experience working with print (newspaper, magazine), television, radio, photography and web. I have worked with Indian and international organisations, reporting from India and abroad.

I am interested in the cross-section of mainstream media and social change.
